Just as the restaurant was once the Lodge’s coach house so the Stable Bar & Bistro was once the stables and despite being built over 150 years ago the stalls & mangers have survived intact and as a result the Stable Bar has a unique atmosphere.

The Bistro has it’s own menu, which are made with the same care and attention as the more formal restaurant menu but which reflect the informal atmosphere of the Bistro’s unique surroundings. The Bistro dishes include Chef’s homemade pies, Cumberland sausage, a Lakeland favourite and probably the best fish and chips you’ve ever tasted. There are also always vegetarian options available. Our Bistro dishes start at £10.95.
