We were delighted to be awarded an AA Rosette in April 2014 and to join a very select group of restaurants achieving this level; it is therefore an accolade of which we are justifiably proud.
So what can you expect when dining at The Coach House? That’s probably best explained by quoting from the AA itself who say “These restaurants achieve standards that stand out in their local area. They serve food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients.” But does this mean you get a beautifully presented meal that looks ready for the Tate Modern but leaves you hungry? The simple answer to that is “No”. We recognise that many of our diners will have had a day walking and enjoying the open air and while they want quality they also want a reasonable quantity so our guarantee is that you will get a lovely meal, beautifully presented and enough of it to ensure you don’t leave hungry!
In addition to the seasonal menu there are always a choice of “Specials” which change daily
OUR HEAD CHEF
Our Head Chef at Ravenstone Lodge is a James Cooper, a chef well known in the Lake District for the way he uses the wonderful local produce and for his creativity skill. His roots are founded in British cooking but his experience takes you well beyond that so expect to find some favourite British dishes but with the odd unexpected twist and with the occasional surprise!
